OUR INITIATIVES

sdg-7 sdg-7

Advancing SDG 7

Empower Electrical partnered with the United Nations to advance SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy through the implementation of a rural electrification project in South Africa. This initiative focused on installing solar-powered microgrids in underserved communities, providing reliable, sustainable electricity to over 5,000 households. By integrating innovative energy storage solutions and training local technicians, the project not only reduced dependency on fossil fuels but also empowered communities with knowledge and resources to maintain the systems. This milestone highlights Empower Electrical’s commitment to driving equitable energy access and supporting global sustainability goals.

ABOUT US

Empower Sustainable Energy Initiative, founded in 2003, provides electrical services across government, commercial, and residential sectors, earning a reputation for excellence in installation, maintenance, and repair. As South Africa faces increasing electricity supply challenges, the organization is expanding into renewable energy solutions. Focused on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Empower is dedicated to SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) by offering low-income households reliable, affordable electricity through solar microgrids and reducing fossil fuel dependence. In line with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), the initiative empowers communities to manage their own energy systems and develop resilient infrastructure that supports education, healthcare, and economic growth. Committed to SDG 5 (Gender Equality), Empower promotes equal participation for women and girls, working to eliminate discrimination and violence. Through these efforts, Empower Sustainable Energy Initiative aims to create sustainable, inclusive energy solutions that address local and global challenges.
